4. Cookies
We use cookies on our website. These are small files that your browser automatically creates and that are saved on your device (laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc.) when you visit our website. Cookies do not cause any damage to your device and do not contain viruses, Trojans or other malware. Information is stored in the cookie that is related to the specific device used. However, this does not mean that we immediately know your identity.
We use cookies to improve our website and make it more user-friendly. Our website requires that the browser that is accessing it can be identified even after a page change. The following data is processed in the cookies:
- language settings
- Search terms entered
- frequency of page views
- use of website functions
The user data collected in this way is pseudonymized using technical precautions. It is therefore no longer possible to assign the data to the user who accessed the website. The data is not stored together with other personal data of the users. When accessing our website, users are informed by an information banner about the use of cookies for analysis purposes and referred to this data protection declaration. In this context, there is also an indication of how the storage of cookies can be prevented in the browser settings.
When you visit our website, you will be informed about the use of cookies for analysis purposes and your consent will be obtained for the processing of personal data used in this context. In this context, you will also be referred to this privacy policy.
5. Legal basis for data processing
The legal basis for the processing of personal data using cookies is Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR.
The legal basis for the processing of personal data using technically necessary cookies is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The legal basis for the processing of personal data using cookies for analysis purposes is Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR if the user has given their consent.
6. Purpose of data processing
The purpose of using technically necessary cookies is to simplify the use of websites for users. Some functions of our website cannot be offered without the use of cookies. For these, it is necessary that the browser is recognized even after changing pages. We need cookies for the following applications:
- Adoption of language settings
- remembering search terms
- remembering search queries
- Remembering the use of website functions
The user data collected by technically necessary cookies is not used to create user profiles. The analysis cookies are used to improve the quality of our website and its content. The analysis cookies tell us how the website is used and enable us to continually optimize our offering.
7. Duration of storage, possibility of objection and removal
Cookies are stored on the user's computer and sent from there to our site. Therefore, as a user, you have full control over the use of cookies. Some cookies are only used temporarily (so-called transient cookies). These are automatically deleted when you close the browser. Some cookies are not only used temporarily (so-called persistent cookies). These are automatically deleted after a specified period of time, which can vary depending on the cookie. You can deactivate or restrict the transmission of cookies by changing the settings in your Internet browser. Cookies that have already been stored can be deleted at any time. This can also be done automatically. If cookies are deactivated for our website, it may no longer be possible to fully use all of the website's functions.
analysis tools, tracking tools
The tracking measures listed below and used by us are carried out on the basis of Art. 6 Paragraph 1 Clause 1 Letter f of GDPR. With the tracking measures used, we want to ensure that our website is designed to meet your needs and is continuously optimized. On the other hand, we use the tracking measures to statistically record the use of our website and to evaluate it for the purpose of optimizing our offer for you. These interests are to be regarded as legitimate within the meaning of the aforementioned regulation. The respective data processing purposes and data categories can be found in the corresponding tracking tools.
1. Google Analytics1
For the purpose of needs-based design and continuous optimization of our pages, we use Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (https://www.google.de/intl/de/about/) (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; hereinafter referred to as "Google"). In this context, pseudonymized user profiles are created and cookies (see section 4) are used. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website, such as
- browser type/version,
- operating system used,
- Referrer URL (the previously visited page),
- Hostname of the accessing computer (IP address),
- time of the server request,
are transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The information is used to evaluate the use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services related to website activity and internet usage for the purposes of market research and the needs-based design of these websites. This information may also be transferred to third parties if this is required by law or if third parties process this data on Google's behalf. Under no circumstances will your IP address be merged with other data held by Google. The IP addresses are anonymized so that they cannot be assigned (IP masking). You can prevent the installation of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly; however, we would like to point out that in this case, not all functions of this website may be fully available. You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) as well as the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing a browser add-on ( https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de ). As an alternative to the browser add-on, especially for browsers on mobile devices, you can also prevent Google Analytics from collecting data by clicking on this link. An opt-out cookie will be set that prevents your data from being collected in the future when you visit this website. The opt-out cookie only applies in this browser and only for our website and is stored on your device. If you delete the cookies in this browser, you must set the opt-out cookie again.
Further information on data protection in connection with Google Analytics can be found in the Google Analytics Help ( https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de )
2. Google Adwords Conversion Tracking
We also use Google Conversion Tracking to statistically record the use of our website and to evaluate it for the purpose of optimising our website for you. Google Adwords places a cookie (see section 4) on your computer if you have accessed our website via a Google ad. These cookies expire after 30 days and
are not used for personal identification. If the user visits certain pages of the Adwords customer's website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and the customer can see that the user has clicked on the ad and was redirected to this page. Data protection authorities require the conclusion of a data processing agreement for the permissible use of Google Analytics. A corresponding template is offered by Google at http://www.google.com/analytics/terms/de.pdf. Each Adwords customer receives a different cookie. Cookies cannot therefore be tracked across the websites of Adwords customers. The information obtained using the conversion cookie is used to create conversion statistics for Adwords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. Adwords customers learn the total number of users who have clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, they receive
no information that can be used to personally identify users.
If you do not wish to participate in the tracking process, you can also refuse the setting of a cookie required for this purpose - for example, by using a browser setting that generally deactivates the automatic setting of cookies. You can also deactivate cookies for conversion tracking by setting your browser so that cookies from the domain "www.googleadservices.com" are blocked. Google's privacy policy on conversion tracking can be found here ( https://services.google.com/sitestats/de.html ).
3. Matomo
We use the open source software Matomo to analyse and statistically evaluate the use of the website. Cookies are used for this purpose (see section 4). The information on website usage generated by the cookie is transferred to our servers and summarized in pseudonymous usage profiles. The information is used to evaluate the use of the website and to enable our website to be designed to meet needs. The information is not passed on to third parties. Under no circumstances will the IP address be associated with other data concerning the user. The IP addresses are anonymized so that an assignment is not possible (IP masking). Your visit to this website is currently being recorded by Matomo Web Analytics. Click here ( https://matamo.org/docs/privacy/ ) so that your visit is no longer recorded.
4. Social Media Plug-ins
We use social plug-ins from the social networks Facebook, Twitter and Instagram on our website on the basis of Art. 6 Paragraph 1 Clause 1 Letter f of GDPR in order to make our company better known. The advertising purpose behind this is to be regarded as a legitimate interest within the meaning of the GDPR. The responsibility for data protection-compliant operation must be guaranteed by their respective providers. We integrate these plug-ins using the so-called two-click method in order to protect visitors to our website as best as possible.
a) Facebook
Our website uses social media plugins from Facebook to make its use more personal. For this purpose, we use the "LIKE" or "SHARE" button. This is an offer from Facebook. When you visit a page on our website that contains such a plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection to the Facebook servers. The content of the plugin is transmitted directly from Facebook to your browser, which integrates it into the website. By integrating the plugins, Facebook receives the information that your browser has accessed the corresponding page on our website, even if you do not have a Facebook account or are not currently logged into Facebook. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted directly from your browser to a Facebook server in the USA and stored there. If you are logged into Facebook, Facebook can assign your visit to our website directly to your Facebook account. If you interact with the plugins, for example by pressing the "LIKE" or "SHARE" button, the corresponding information is also transmitted directly to a Facebook server and stored there. The information is also published on Facebook and displayed to your Facebook friends. Facebook can use this information for the purposes of advertising, market research and tailoring Facebook pages to your needs. For this purpose, Facebook creates usage, interest and relationship profiles, e.g.
to evaluate your use of our website with regard to the advertisements displayed to you on Facebook, to inform other Facebook users about your activities on our website and to provide other services associated with the use of Facebook.
If you do not want Facebook to assign the data collected via our website to your Facebook account, you must log out of Facebook before visiting our website. The purpose and scope of data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Facebook as well as your rights and setting options for protecting your privacy can be found in Facebook's privacy policy (https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/).
b) Twitter
Our website contains plugins from the Twitter Inc. (Twitter) short message network. You can recognize Twitter plugins (tweet button) by the Twitter logo on our site. You can find an overview of tweet buttons here ( https://about.twitter.com/resources/buttons ). When you visit a page on our website that contains such a plugin, a direct connection is established between your browser and the Twitter server. Twitter therefore receives the information that you have visited our site using your IP address. If you click the Twitter “tweet button” while you are logged into your Twitter account, you can link the content of our pages to your Twitter profile. This enables Twitter to associate your visit to our pages with your user account. We would like to point out that, as the provider of the pages, we have no knowledge of the content of the data transmitted or how it is used by Twitter. If you do not want Twitter to be able to associate your visit to our pages, please log out of your Twitter user account. For more information, please see Twitter’s privacy policy ( https://twitter.com/privacy ).
c) Instagram
Our website also uses so-called social plugins (“plugins”) from Instagram, which is operated by Instagram LLC, 1601 Willow Road, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA (“Instagram”).
The plugins are marked with an Instagram logo, for example in the form of an "Instagram camera". When you visit a page on our website that contains such a plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection to Instagram's servers. The content of the plugin is transmitted directly from Instagram to your browser and integrated into the page. Through this integration, Instagram receives the information that your browser has accessed the corresponding page on our website, even if you do not have an Instagram profile or are not currently logged into Instagram. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted directly from your browser to an Instagram server in the USA and stored there. If you are logged into Instagram, Instagram can immediately assign the visit to our website to your Instagram account. If you interact with the plugins, for example by pressing the "Instagram" button, this information is also transmitted directly to an Instagram server and stored there. The information is also published on your Instagram account and displayed to your contacts there. If you do not want Instagram to assign the data collected via our website directly to your Instagram account, you must log out of Instagram before visiting our website. You can find more information on this in Instagram's privacy policy ( https://help.instagram.com/155833707900388 ).

If your browser does not support 256-bit encryption, we use 128-bit v3 technology instead. You can tell whether an individual page of our website is being transmitted using encryption by the closed display of the key or lock symbol in the lower status bar of your browser.
